Christmas Shoot a Great end to a Great year.

18/12/2011

The Final shoot for 2011 was another highlight for the club with a very strong 80 odd shooters turning out to catch up and celebrate as only shooters can. Breaking a few clays with friends. The course was set over 7 stands with targets for all grades of shooters from good basic targets to thinking targets that kept some scores in check. Shooters came from near and far and is great to see so much activity in the club thanks must go to all the travellers and supporters who made time at this busy time of the year. Special thanks to the Mudgee shooters who came across to reclaim some hams that Dubbo shooters were able to claim last weekend in Mudgee. Its great to see 2 clubs supporting each other well. Highlights of the day was High Gun shooter Jimmy Zammitt shooting a 91 and ever reliable Peter Kay winning the Railway Junction Hotel trophy after an extended shoot off. AA winner Steven Payne,A grade Jake Guzelian, B grade Craig Kurtz, C grade Ben Hooper, Vets Ross Christian, Super Vets Mick Quinlan, Juniors Bradley McCallum, Sub Juniors Jarrod Williams and very excited for her first win Jen Rushton took out the ladies comp. The Annual trophy known as the Goodwill Goolie that is shoot for between Mudgee and Dubbo was won by Dubbo the scoring of this prestige event is some what of a tightly gaurded secret but romour has it is similar to the Duckworth Lewis method but no matter how it is scored it is great to see Dubbo have it in safe keeping for the next 12 mths. The Joe Shaloub Encouragment Award for 2011 was awarded to Ben Hooper. A big thankyou to all who helped make the day a success and everyone have a safe and merry Christmas in all that you do. We look forward to seeing you all in 2012.
